Harold Melvin's Blue Notes & The Stylistics

Saturday, December 28, 8:00pm

Harold Melvin’s Blue Notes, one of the most popular Philadelphia soul groups of the 1970’s included soul, R&B, doo-wop and disco. The Notes scored several major R&B and pop hits including million-selling singles and albums throughout their career. Among the Blue Note’s most important and successful records are love songs such as, “If You Don’t Know Me By Now”, their breakout single, “I Miss You”, “The Love I Lost”, and socially conscious songs such as “Wake Up Everybody”, and “Bad Luck”.

The Stylistics are one of the most successful soul groups, ever. With 12 straight Top Ten hits in the early ‘70s including: “You Are Everything”, “Betcha by Golly Wow”, “I’m Stone in Love with You”, “Break up to Make Up,” Let’s Put it All Together”, and “You Make Me Feel Brand New.” That famous Philly Soul sound is still groovin’ today as The Stylistics celebrate their 50th anniversary with the original founding members Airrio Love and Herb Murrell, with Jason Sharp and the newest Stylistic, “Bo” Henderson (former lead vocalist of The Temptations) whose amazing falsetto makes you feel as though you are listening to the hit songs exactly as you first heard them on vinyl.

Jay Mohr

Friday, March 13, 9:00pm

With a career that has spanned over three decades, Jay has become an artist that is very difficult to define. Never wanting to rest on his accomplishments, Jay has always pushed himself to be more than just a comic. Some notable achievements include Saturday Night Live, Jerry Maguire playing a role opposite Tom Cruise, and Picture Perfect with co-star Jennifer Anniston. Mohr has brilliantly balanced both acting and stand-up comedy as roommates in his brain.

Jay Mohr is the rarest of entertainers. After 25 films and starring is own groundbreaking series produced by Joel Silver and the late Ted Demme (Action) he starred in the CBS scripted comedy Gary Unmarried, which was critically acclaimed and was on for two seasons. Jay has guest starred in over 50 different television dramas and comedy series episodes. Throughout his journey, Jay still loves performing stand-up comedy it’s in his blood, his bones and his DNA. Anyone that has ever seen one of his concerts will be quick to tell you that there is no one better. Comedy Central agrees, having named Mohr one of the 100 greatest stand-up comics of all time. These are the three tenets that Jay believes makes great live comedy, and the foundation is laid when Jay often tells his audiences, “Lets just jump off a cliff together and build our wings on the way down!”

Tyler Farr

Friday, April 10, 9:00pm

“One of the best male vocalists in Country music today,” (Taste of Country), Tyler Farr is the first artist signed to Jason Aldean’s Night Train Records/BBR Music Group. The Country-rocker, with three No.1 songs to his credit (“Redneck Crazy,” “Whiskey in My Water,” and “A Guy Walks Into a Bar”) broke onto the scene with the 2013 release of his debut album, Redneck Crazy, which landed at No. 2 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart and #5 on the Billboard Top 200. Farr’s platinum-selling title-track “Redneck Crazy” projected Farr forward to celebrate back-to-back No. 1 singles, including his first No. 1 as a songwriter, with his Platinum-certified hit “Whiskey in my Water.” His sophomore album, Suffer In Peace followed suit, also making its debut in the Top 5 on both the BILLBOARD Top 200 Albums and BILLBOARD Country Albums Charts, leading Farr to become the only solo male Country artist in the past decade to have their first two studio albums debut in the Top 5 on the Billboard 200 Chart.

Recognized as a 2014 CRS New Faces of Country Radio and 2014 Music Row “Breakthrough Artist of the Year” nominee, the opera-trained singer quickly earned coveted slots touring with Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line, Brantley Gilbert, Luke Combs and Lee Brice. The Missouri native’s dry wit, silly antics and reputation as “a no-frills musician who pours his drinks as hard as he pours his heart into his songs,” (Rolling Stone), lead to Farr to receiving his own reality series A Little Too Farr (Unscripted) and a social following eager to see his next move. Farr is currently working on new music with longtime friend, Jason Aldean serving as a producer for the forthcoming project.
