SUNDAY RECAP

42-1 CAVIART TYLER, TROTTER CC FRED WIN SUNDAY FEATURES

Dover, Del. ---  Caviart Tyler put on a strong finish to chalk up a 1:52 lifetime fastest victory at 42-1 to win the $16,500 3,4&5-Year-Old pace while CC’s Fred has found the winning formula in the $14,500 trot on a sunny Sunday, April 10 at Dover Downs

With Corey Callahan in the bike, Tom Cooke’s Dragon Again-Caviart Sierra gelding, trained by Bib Roberts, pulled a big surprise in the day’s top pacing event. High Joltage (Ben Stafford Jr.) came on to finish second. PW Rainbow (Jim Morand) was the third place horse.

CC’s Fred has escaped from secondites after eight straight times finishing as a bridesmaid as Sean Bier guided the Windsong’s Legacy-Pull Your Chain four-year-old to his second consecutive victory coming from off-the-pace to take the lead in the lane and breeze home in 1:56.1 for Robbins Next Farm Inc. Trained by Crissy Crissman, CC;s Fred was followed home by Political Muscle (Brad Hanners) and Mandabra (Corey Callahan) in the day’s top trot.

The meet-long battle for first place in the dash-win standings continues. Defending champion Corey Callahan and Ron Pierce each won two races and continue in a deadlock for first place with 222 wins apiece. Brad Hanners also had a double.

There are only four more days of live racing for the current Dover Downs meet. Sunday through Thursday, post time is 4:30 p.m. Simulcasts of harness and thoroughbred racing is featured daily from 12 Noon until 12 Midnight.  Parking and admission is free
